Staff Picks July 2009

Kate

It’s well and truly winter again, and I’m back to my old tricks! In cold weather I skip the body lotion in favour of a body oil that I can massage into damp skin before getting out of the shower. Hey presto, no standing around getting cold while rubbing lotion in!

I particularly love Aesop’s body oils – the Geranium Leaf Hydrating Body Treatment has a lovely fresh yet warm scent, and the Three Acts Kit has three lovely blends to rotate so you’ll never get bored.

Celeste

I love a bit of a red lip every now and again. It makes me feel in control, and like I can achieve anything. The confidence that comes with wearing the right shade of red is something no man will ever understand. The problem with it, though, is the maintenance. Keeping your pout looking perfect doesn’t come easy when it comes to red.

That is why I am so thrilled to have discovered Becca’s Sheer Lip Tint in Alina. A lovely, sheer red, it glides on smoothly and keeps lips hydrated. It wears off after a few hours but it doesn’t leave that faded look a typical lipstick does. And you can quickly reapply it without worrying that you’ve messed it up. It’s an easy-peasy red-lip look for days when I need a lift but don’t have much time on my hands.

Nikki

This month I have devoted my time to trying every single shade of the Napoleon Perdis Surreal World Range. And let me tell you, I am incredibly impressed. My favourite shade in the Cheek to Chic Blush is Duo 3 Pomegranate shimmer/bronze shimmer. Because my skintone is quite dark, I don’t usually like blushes, I prefer using a highlighter. But I have converted! The shade of this blush is perrrrrfect, it isn’t too rosy or bronze, but gives me a sunkissed look that I’ve never been able to obtain before.

As for the Luminous Lip Veils I’ve got so many favourites. The most current ones are Sienna Shimmer, Berry Contrary and Sugar Plum. I was never one for colourful lippies, so these ones are just right for me. The gloss lasts for hours and it’s got just the right amount of sticky for me. Love a bit of shimmer too!

As for the Prismatic Eye Quads, the packaging is great and the two brushes make application really easy, especially getting the lighter shades in the corners of my eyes. I love the fact that there are four colours to play with and that the colours are so complimentary! They look so good mixed together. This stuff is brilliant!
